Jonathan Tropper A Writer so Vivid you can see the movie

I read Jonathan Tropper’s books in quick succession about 10 years ago. They were funny and so descriptive that I could see the movie as I read.

His book “This is Where I Leave You” became a movie. I thought “How to Talk to a Widower” would be a great movie with the right cast. It is sad at times, poignant, and very funny.

I haven’t read any Jonathan Tropper books lately. What happened?

I turned out that he hasn’t written new books.  He is still alive. Don’t worry about that being the reason.

After his last book, “One Last Thing Before I Go” he got into script writing. He helped adapt one of his books into a screenplay and he kept at it. He’s written for Apple TV.

There are different types of writers. Some do short stories that are super tight on words. Some write business papers. Tropper went from books to scripts. JK Rowling couldn’t do it.

I hope Tropper is enjoying the new career path. He seems successful at it.
