Recently I was interviewed on a video podcast by Cal Schwartz. His series “Conversations with Cal” has thousands of viewers. We talked about self-publishing through the years, the current state of self-publishing, favorite authors, movies and New Jersey life.

Here is the video:

I really wanted to write blogs how I had new a book ready to publish. The latest work has been professionally edited, edited by co-writers, beta read and been reviewed by voice apps. I read this so many times. There were times, the story bored me. Does that mean it will bore a reader? I had to edit it again. This last time, I thought it was ready. I got one more author proof to review for formatting and page counts.

It sat on the table because I got scared. Please don’t let me find another typo. Please be perfect. I opened the first pages and read. I could re-word this. I could describe this differently. It’s not perfect! I passed it to someone else. I can’t edit it. I will never be satisfied. True, the next person didn’t want to change things. I found it on the table and skimmed the book. Nope, I really want to change this.

I’ve missed my self imposed deadlines multiple times. I’ve missed my quarterly deadlines.

I’ve let Alessandra Torres down. She gave a talk on deadlines and guide posts. I didn’t stick to her words. I missed the opening promotional time.

I’m going to do these edits again. I need this right.
