Companies pestering me for comments
Do giant corporations have thinner skins than the average business person? There used to be comment cards on tables in diners back in the day. It was rare anyone actually filled them out. If you left a tip, you said you approved. Easy.
The Internet came along and every corporation wanted feedback on their service. They always say it’s to improve. Go to a brick and mortar store; they give a receipt that will have some verbiage that you can win money if you complete the survey.
Did you ever win?
There were Internet sites like Yelp that asked for comments on a company. Then companies wanted their own answers. They will ask for your email somewhere so they can contact you.
Did you notice that when you give a bad review, they act like they don’t see it. You don’t see it on the site. If you don’t answer they send you reminder emails.
What they don’t get is I don’t owe you that feedback. You did a service, you get paid. If I like you, I will take time to spread word about you. If I don’t like you, I may spread the word or just forget about you.
I don’t owe you feedback. Stop pestering your customers.
