Found Bond Books!

I recently got four James Bond books written by John Gardner for a dollar. Big time score! I read the Ian Fleming books and I’ve read books about the Ian Fleming books. I read an Anthony Horowitz’ book. Charlie Higson took on Young Bond and those books were good.

I loved cinematic Bond since I was a kid. We didn’t have comic book stores, but a Bond movie came out every few years. The old ones were available on VHS tape. The movies are farther apart and I’m not that interested where they go next. Literary Bond has a whole other exciting life.

Those Gardner books are difficult to find now. There are new writers that want to update the franchise. There are new places that Bond can go. The Cold War ended. That didn’t end Bond. I look forward to where new writers take Bond.
